Simplicity at it's best.

Yes, it is true that sometimes you should go all out with fashion... major accessories, makeup, heaps of clothes, etc. But sometimes, simple is the way to go. I think the best way to dress right is to stock up on the basics. Basic tees, tanks, neutral colored cardigans, flats, and shirts. Then, you can buy smaller accessories like scarves, brooches, bracelets, headbands, and bags to play them up.. but not too many at once. Pairing a few of these things together makes a great outfit. And one thing that I would like to add is that your makeup should always match what you're wearing.. not perfectly, but close.

Making your own.

Accessories are often the most important part of any outfit... but sometimes they can be pricy for such small things. Try these cute ideas to add spark to any boring outfit.

1. Crochet/knit a scarf. This is a great thing to do when you are bored. Just Google for instructions, and scarves are a must-have this fall. Ball of yarn- $3.
2. Make your own bracelet. Same thing... Google "making friendship bracelets." It's that easy. They're colorful, fun, and brightening. Pack of string- $.35 each.
3. Make a necklace. This is what inspired me to write this post. Find an old string or chain in your jewelry box, and a cool object. What I'm wearing today? A guitar pick that I got from a Boys Like Girls concert. I had my dad drill a tiny hole through it, and I stuck it on a chain. It matches my outfit perfectly. (:

These are just a few ideas, but there are so many more! Enjoy!

P.S. Check out my friends Creya and Dana's blogs. They match mine, except with their own subjects. Just click on the names. With a blog for music, beauty, and fashion, we've got it all covered. xoxo

Saving Money.

As school fast approaches, many of us find ourselves faced with a problem: what to buy, because of the limit we have on money. The truth is, things may not be as expensive as they seem. Read on to find some tips on how to get things cheaper when back to school shopping.

1. Wait. If you find something you like at a store close by, wait to buy it. Chances are it will go on sale pretty soon, even if it's only a little cheaper. You're still saving money!
2. Look for coupons. It's as easy as typing in "American Eagle coupons" into your Google search box. All the coupons available will come up, and most of them you can print. Or look through bags from previous purchases, or sign up for rewards and catalogs through the mail. They always send coupons. Also, look in your favorite magazines.

3. Find a cheaper version. So you go to the store, and see a white scarf you just love. Say, Macy's. $30. If it's just a plain white scarf, head to Claire's. Chances are you can get almost exactly the same one with a different tag for $10. No one will know the difference.

Hope these helped, and maybe I'll post more soon. (:

Fashion & Music

I think one of the best accessories to any outfit is an iPod that matches. Of course, our iPod is not going to match our outfit every day, and we are not going to buy one of every color... but I have a solution. Head to Target or another low-price store and pick up a few different colored pairs of earphones. Use the ones that match your outfit on any given day. Still don't have any one day? Just stick with the white ones iPods come with. Even your favorite items can be put to work into your outfit.

Skinny Jeans

The best things ever invented. Can be worn with flats, Converse, and UGGs. And flip flops. Super comfortable, looks great with cardis and graphic tees. Low enough for a belt. Perfect color. I love them. A must have in any wardrobe. (:

My fabulous Polyvore sets that include my possible first day outfit and school things I've already bought.

New Trend?

We've found that the new trend, being found all over every store, is short ankle boots, normally suede or canvas. Normally, these boots can be zipped up and have very little or no heel. Some with buckles. Most common colors? Gray, tan, black. But you can also find them in cool prints like plaid. My opinion? I love them. They're simple yet fashion forward, and are great for school. Pair them with a cute top and skinnies half tucked in, and you're ready to go. Where can you find them? Forever21, Target, Aldo's, DSW, and more. Just remember: a girl can never have too many shoes. Check them out here.

You never know where you'll find great deals...

Dana and I decided to hit Express in our mall today. Usually, we walk in here, try on clothes, and can never afford anything, even though we love it all. Today, however, we were directed by the sales assistant to the sale rack... where we found a hot pink $50 cardigan for only [[drum roll please]] $12. Now we can be dressed like we afford Express, but really, we just found a great deal. What will we pair it with? We were thinking something along the lines of skinny jeans, a plain tank, a floral pin, and ballet flats. But the extra length gives us the perfect oppurtunity to pair it with leggings, also. So this goes to show that you never you know what deals you will find. Just walk in, and good luck.
